Music Hire

When requesting a quote for hire of performance material for a particular work, ensuring the provision of the following details will ensure a speedy response:
• Number of performance(s)
• Date(s) of performance(s)
• Performance venue(s)
• Performers
• Status of hiring organisation (Amateur/Educational/Professional)
• Number of string parts required (if applicable)

COPYRIGHT REMINDER
The unauthorised adaptation, translation or copying of the material or the work(s) in whole or in part by any method is illegal. The performance(s) of the musical work(s) must not be for, or subject to:
• Radio transmission, unless expressly agreed;
• Television broadcast by network, cable or satellite, unless expressly agreed;
• Mechanical reproduction, including recording,
transcription (whether mechanically or electronically) or by any other method, unless expressly agreed;
• Reproduction with visual images by any method including, but not limited to, video tapes, DVD, internet streaming or cassettes or by any other similar device;
• Dramatic interpretation with any form of character representation, theatrical costuming, dramatic effects, actions and gestures, choreography, theatrical direction, props, scenery, dialogue or narrative;
• Promotional or advertising purposes.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Cancellations
A signed HIRE APPLICATION FORM lodged with the Publisher will be treated as a firm order. A Cancellation charge of 25% of the hire fee will be levied on all applications lodged with the Publisher, and a charge of 50% of the hire fee will be levied on any material already dispatched.

Concert Programmes
Two copies of the programme(s), acknowledging the Composers and the Publisher of the work(s), must be supplied.

Concert Tickets
Two complimentary tickets for the Concert Performance(s) shall be provided to the Publisher upon request.

Original Material
The hired work MUST be performed from original parts (these are stamped in green ink). If additional parts are required due to loss or damage please contact the Publisher for replacements. The practice of making photocopies of performance material without the consent of the Publisher is strictly illegal and where possible, action will be taken to prevent it.

Hire to Music Students
HIRE APPLICATIONS will only be accepted from bone fide music students (studying at a tertiary institution) who must supply a valid VISA or MASTERCARD for payment. Students unable to supply a credit card must arrange the hire through their institution.

Instrumentation
Upon receipt of goods the hirer should check the instrumentation against the listed delivery docket. Any errors or omissions must be notified to the Publisher immediately.

Invoicing & Payment
A signed HIRE APPLICATION lodged with Promethean Editions will be treated as a firm order. The Hirer will be invoiced at time of dispatch of the material and must pay the invoice within fourteen days of the invoice date. Hirers that have a credit account with Promethean Editions may defer payment as per the credit agreement. A penalty of 15% p.a. (pro rata) will be levied on all outstanding balances. Hirers electing to pay by credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD) may incur a 4% surcharge.

Missing or defaced Material
A charge will be made for any missing or defaced material (marking in biro, coloured pencil, fluorescent marker or obliteration of text or music) at full replacement cost. Markings may be made with nothing other than a soft black lead pencil (2B or 3B). Markings which will be of no assistance to future players must be removed before the score and parts are returned. From time to time, repairs to parts may be necessary. Repairs may be carried out using transparent tape (“magic” tape/librarians’ tape). DO NOT use ordinary sticky tape or parcel tape.

Performance Licence
All performances of the material must be reported to APRA or local equivalent. The venue of performance must hold a valid and relevant licence issued by APRA or local equivalent.

Perusal Material
Perusal Scores are supplied for a period of one month and must be returned within that time. Any extension of the loan period must be agreed with the Promethean Editions. Failure to do so will incur charges at full replacement cost.

Return of Goods
Material must be returned securely packed, complete and in good condition immediately after the final performance. Materials not returned within one calendar month of the final performance will incur further charges (25% of the base hire charge per month).

Shipping
All material will be couriered at the Hirers costs to the delivery address listed overleaf.

Supply of Material to a third party
The material is supplied solely for the performance(s) as specified in the HIRE APPLICATION. It must not be lent, sold, re-hired or put to any other use.
